I’ve done a complete redesign of andrewgentle.com and integrated it more tightly with Wordpress. All the old posts have been migrated over and the old URLs forwarded to the new ones so nothing much should be broken..
I hope the new design is an improvement over the old, which was starting to look a bit 60s.
I’ve replaced my photo gallery with a brand new one. It is a little sad since I wrote the old one myself by hand. The new one, however, is based on the powerful Gallery2 CMS. It does a heap of cool things automatically, like making thumbnails and retrieving EXIF data. Check out the new gallery here:

A few weeks ago, adbots managed to replace 100 of my blog posts with hidden ads, targeted at search engines. The breach occurred due to a vulnerability in WordPress which allowed the content of certain posts to be replaced via SQL injunctions. Now I’ve updated WordPress on all my sites which used it and replace all but three posts thanks to a recent server backup (well done, Stephen!).
Not so long after the launch of both Recipe Realm and Forced Perspective, I’ve produced another website! Andrew Productions used to be part of andrewgentle.com, but now I’ve decided to move it to its own dedicated subdomain. I’m posting things there about filmmaking there as well as new videos I produce myself (if I find the time!).
It's not long after I released Recipe Realm, I know, but I'm releasing a new blog today. It's called Forced Perspective. My mysterious co-writer Darryl and I will be filling it with posts which, we hope, may be in some way remotely humorous. But don't take my word for it, decide for yourself:
Well I haven’t posted anything in Site News for quite a while and that is because I’ve been developing a new site. It’s called Recipe Realm. The idea is that people sign up for accounts and then read, submit, rate and comment on recipes. It’s still under construction so, I don’t know, wear a hard hat.
I’ve just released my new photo gallery to replace the old one. It has a funky ‘darkroom’ design and a lot more photos than the old one did. Hope you like it, I built it from the ground up.

It's been a while since I posted in Site News, but quite a lot has been updated on andrewgentle.com. There are two new videos, 'ESREVER The Backwards Video' and 'How to Move My Documents' on the Internet Videos Page. I've also released Andrew Productions Labs where I'll be posting some articles and tutorials related to video production. I've made some other minor adjustments and added a list of the three previous entries in the NewsBlog on the front page. I'm working on a new page to put all my still photos on since the Still Photography section of the site is quite popular, look out for that in the near future.
I've launched a new site named Black Holes, http://blackholes.andrewgentle.com.
It contains an article I wrote in 2005 about the physics of black holes. The page is in the design series and I've used it to develop some new techniques.
